Stone Soup

Three soldiers come marching toward a French village seeking food and shelter. The selfish townspeople fear their food will be taken from them, so they claim they have nothing to offer, and turn the soldiers away. The soldiers devise a clever plan to create the most peculiar soup, both to satisfy their hunger and to teach the peasants (and the reader) a wonderful lesson of sharing and kindness.
