Details
Classical Academic Press homes in on the natural curiosity of children in order to help them learn in an appealing and natural way. This class builds on and incorporates the concepts and skills learned in Grammar and Writing 3. Utilizing the Well-Ordered Language curriculum, students are able to develop a full facet of understanding through ongoing reading, writing, speaking and listening exercises. A major part of this class will focus on the grammatical structure and key components that are essential to writing. Not only will students be able to identify the different parts of a sentence, but they will also learn how these parts behave and function as a whole through the key concept of diagramming. As part of the curriculum, students will be guided to practice their grammar through the use of lively songs and chants. This added resource is an excellent educational tool for students of all learning styles. The ultimate goal of this class is to teach students the steps and skills needed to write and speak in a meaningful way, while at the same time allowing them the freedom to express their imagination. The Writing and Rhetoric series guides students in the practice of reading comprehension, rewriting and retelling given stories, as well as amplifying a story through description and dialogue. Parental involvement is encouraged and expected to provide consistent oversight and daily assistance. Homework will average 2-3 hours per week.
