Do you have questions about your faith, other religious perspectives, and worldviews outside of the paradigms of faith itself? The VSA Apologetics Club is an organization focused on wrestling with some of the deepest questions found in the Christian worldview while having fun and interacting with friends from all over the globe. Typical club meetings will revolve around certain questions (examples: the ontological argument and its origins, or the problem of evil) where students will be encouraged to discuss their own doubts (Yes, we Christians sometimes have doubts!) as well as their interactions with non-Christians in their everyday lives. This club will not be focused on "destroying atheists" or learning to be better at arguing with people. Rather, students will be introduced to the deeper nature of apologetics where all academic disciplines (math, science, literature, philosophy, theology) come together in the pursuit of God's beautiful truth. Occasional club meetings might focus on the work of famous apologists such as CS Lewis, Athenagoras, William Lane Craig, or John Lennox. The proctor for this club will be Edward A.W. Stengel, a professional Christian apologist (and Omnibus teacher) who studied under world-famous apologists like Holly Ordway, Michael Ward, Michael Licona, and William Lane Craig. Activities in this club include large group discussions as well as breakout groups for more personalized interaction. Light reading is required (normally articles as opposed to whole books), though getting deeper into our readings is always encouraged! All this learning, and absolutely no mandatory homework!
