Science Fiction - A Christian Perspective - Summer B - Live
Details
Science-fiction has long been a vehicle for exploring important ideas regarding the nature of humanity, its present circumstances, and its future. In this class, students will learn the major objectives and themes in the genre through a close reading of some of its most important books, as well as interacting with relevant film and television examples. In the process, they will be challenged to think about the question, "What does it mean to be a human being?" Close comparisons with Christian doctrine will help students to carefully and helpfully enjoy, critique, and appropriate the riches of science-fiction texts and films for themselves. Homework will average approximately 4 hours per week.
Science Fiction - A Christian Perspective is taught by an expert instructor in the Veritas Virtual Classroom and is limited to only 20 students per course.
