Reading K - Better - You Teach
Details
This is what we deem the "Better" option for Reading in Kindergarten. This option utilizes the "You Teach" method, which is a term we have coined for traditional, parent-taught homeschooling.
Learning to read is easily one of the most important aspects of a child’s education. Many experiments with how to teach reading have been tried…and failed. A phonetic approach is easily the most successful way to teach the English language and reading, in particular. The Veritas approach includes a deep commitment to phonetic instruction, having the young learner read his first book quickly—only eight weeks in, actually—and fun. Children will learn handwriting and spelling along the way, too. The Phonics Museum, an award-winning Veritas product, serves as the core curriculum to support your efforts. The kindergarten program will cover all consonant sounds and short vowels. Available in You Teach format. Also available as an app.
