Geography - Better - North - You Teach
Details
This is what we deem the "Better" option for Geography in 4th Grade. This option utilizes the "You Teach" method, which is a term we have coined for traditional, parent-taught homeschooling.
Following the introductory year geography studies are broken up into four courses: north, south, east and west. They can be done in any order. Our recommendation is based on opportunity to integrate them with history. Geography – North includes the study of the continents and oceans, the British Isles, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, the former U.S.S.R., and Southern Europe. This course fits well with the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Reformation Veritas history course. Mr. Latitude and Mr. Longitude will take students on an exciting trip throughout Europe using their old and new maps. Alice in Wonderland joins them for this jaunt, in which they are searching for the missing Loch Ness Monster. Their adventures include sea serpents, St. George, and King Wenceslas.
